F r i e n d s

of Ashfield Girls’ High School

Who are we?

We are the parent teacher association of Ashfield Girls High School.

We normally meet in the coffee lounge at the school.

Our scheduled meetings commence on Tuesday 12 September 2006 at 7.00 pm.

We always aim to be finished by 8.00 pm.

What do we aim to do?

Our aims are to:

  • give support to the pupils and staff of Ashfield Girls’ High School in whatever way we can for the benefit of everyone at the school.

·        put the ‘fun’ into fund raising for the school.

·        organize lots of activities for the pupils with parenting, life skills and social events for parents and teachers.

We will use money raised to fund much needed equipment at the school which will  benefit both pupils and teachers.  We recently raised £10,000 for Ashfield’s successful bid as an ICT specialist school in the Specialist Schools Pilot programme.

Our programme of events for 2006/07 will be in place soon.  As a taster, this is what we did last year…

  • Summer quiz
  • Drug Proof Your Kids course
  • Bag packing at Sainsbury’s (Holywood Exchange)
  • Fashion Show
  • Social event for Friends of Ashfield members

Further details on any of these events are available from the school office or from any member of Friends of Ashfield. Alternatively e-mail David Shaw, our Chairman, on david.shaw22@ntlworld.com or our Treasurer, David Gillespie, on d.gillespie@ntlworld.com.

I would like to help

Why not come along to our next meeting if you would like to help.  At all Friends of Ashfield meetings everyone is welcome and an invitation is not required.

Please come along and join us.
