Mr Maurice Frew - Chairperson
I am Transferor Representative appointed by St Marks Dundela. Having served on the Board of Governors at Belmont Primary School I joined Ashfield Girls High School Board nine years ago. Widowed with two children, I retired from the airline business over two years ago. It has been my pleasure to have been associated with many hard working governors over the years and in particular the dedication and enthusiasm they have shown in the transformation of the old Ashfield Girls’ to our new school. I am honoured to have been elected as Chair of the Board and will strive to assist and promote the continuing excellent progress being achieved by all staff in Ashfield.
Mrs Elaine Bush
‘I was elected, approximately 11 years ago, by Strand Presbyterian to take up the role as a Transferor Representative on the Board of Governors at Ashfield Girls.
Prior to joining Ashfield’s Board I was a parent representative on the Board of Dundela Primary School for 4 years. I was a former pupil of Ashfield and my two children had also attended the Ashfield Schools in previous years.
I currently work full time for a housing association in Belfast and when I am not working I occupy myself with a variety voluntary work, such as serving as a Boys’ Brigade Officer, a representative on the Belfast Battalion Junior Section Committee (BB), working with children and teenagers with learning difficulties, teaching English to European citizens and a member of the Nightlight team in Belfast City Centre. Aside from my youth and community work I enjoy walking and gardening.
