About Maths
Mathematics is the study and the development of the skills and the relationships between shape, space measure, data, algebra and number.
The journey of learning mathematics is the development of the concepts the acquisition of the facts and the application of the skills. The journey can be challenging, daunting, satisfying, exciting, confusing and even creative. We all strive to get to the end but we all take different pathways, encountering different hurdles and stumbling blocks. Some pupils start the journey well equipped while others start with less baggage. Throughout each person’s pathways, some will get lost and others will proceed quite quickly. The main focus for all the travellers is to take on board all the experiences of their journey and find ways of linking these, to take on the next stage.
