Congratulations to Ashfield Girls’ Eco Angels
Ashfield Girls’ High School has just been awarded its THIRD Green Flag Award. The assessment took place on Thursday 10th June 2010. Colin Latham, NI Eco-Schools Manager, was very impressed by the work carried out by the Eco-Angels.
Eco-Schools is a programme for environmental management, certification and sustainable development education for schools. The program is now being implemented throughout the world; there are schools in Europe, Africa, North America, South America, Oceania and Asia all participating in the programme. Forty five countries are now signed up to the Eco-Schools programme, sharing the same methodology and concept, and are identified by the Eco-Schools logo and Green Flag. The Eco-Schools Green Flag, awarded to schools with high achievement in their programme, is a recognised and respected eco-label for environmental education and performance.
We are the first post-primary school in the BELB and the second post-primary school in Northern Ireland to achieve a third Green Flag.
Congratulations and well done to the girls for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
