Around Ashfield Girls' - Results Day 2010!
News @ Ashfield
The Big Conversation
This is the launch in Northern Ireland of the National Work Inspiration Campaign and is taking place at the Belfast Waterfront on 5 May 2010. The launch will bring together 50 Chief Executives and 50 young people to talk, one to one, about their hopes and dreams and what they want to do and how they can be inspired about the world of work. The event will be chaired by John McCann, Chief Executive of UTV Media PLC and is being filmed, and may even hit the headlines on the UTV news.
Two pupils from Year 11 have been invited to get involved in a one day work inspiration placement pilot in April and will be asked to talk about their experiences at the event.
Stephanie Orr, 12H, has been given the honour of co-presenting the launch along with Jamie Delargy, Business Editor at UTV.

Civic Link Programme 2010
A group of year 13 girls have just completed their second exchange visit with their partner school Coláiste Lorcáin, Castledermot. The students participated in a number of workshops lead by Co-Operation Ireland which looked at how students their age can ‘make a difference’ and influence policy makers in decisions which can ultimately affect them. The students also had the opportunity to visit Carlow, go bowling and visit Kilkenny to see the castle and go shopping. A great time was had by all and we would like to thank the teachers and students from Coláiste Lorcáin for making our visit so enjoyable.
